A resolution protesting the anti-Jewish campaign in the Communist countries was adopted here at a mass meeting sponsored jointly by the Canadian Jewish Congress, United Zionist Council and Jewish Labor Committee.

Edward E. Gelber, president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, told the rally that “an affirmation of Jewry by all its free followers must be the answer to the recent Communist attacks, which have defiled and befouled Jewry everywhere.” Monroe Abbey, president of the Eastern Division of the CJC, saw in the attacks an attempt to “divide the Jewish people, to destroy the cultural and religious bonds of Jewry and to split the State of Israel from its friends the world over.”
