Canadian Jewish officials are cautiously optimistic as arrests were made following a spree of anti-Semitic vandalism. Steven Vandermey, 18, and two unidentified 15-year-olds were arrested this week on mischief charges that could land them in jail for months. Bernie Farber, executive director of the Ontario region of the Canadian Jewish Congress, thanked police at a Wednesday news conference for their commitment to solving the ugly rash of hate crimes.
