The Canadian Government was called upon today by Samuel J. Zacks, president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, to support the Israeli application for admission to United Nations membership which is expected to he submitted at the U.N. General Assembly in Paris month.
Addressing a meeting here upon his return from a flying visit to Israel, Zacks’ appeal to the Canadian Government expressed the hope that Canada will grant de jure recognition to the Jewish state. He assured his audience that “Israel will become a country of prestige and power.”
