R. B. Bennett, Canadian Premier who is now in London attending the Imperial Conference, was informed today in a cable from Archibald Freiman, president of the Canadian Zionist Organization, of the distress of Canadian Jewry over the attitude taken by the British government in “practically nullifying the Balfour Declaration.”

Numerous local and national Jewish organizations throughout the Dominion are calling special meetings to protest against the new British policy in Palestine. The Palestine developments have replaced the reports of the Imperial Conference on the front pages of the English and French press.

A national conference to decide what steps should be taken to meet the situation is being called by the Zionist Organization to meet in Montreal Monday.
