President Carter said today that the American Jewish community was “unjustified” in being uneasy about his Middle East policy. His comment came after his press conference this afternoon. As the President was leaving, he was approached by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reporter who said, “There is uneasiness in the Jewish community…” The President, replying before the question was completed, said, “They are unjustified–their concerns are unjustified.” There was no opportunity to follow up the question.
