Charles A. Silver, New York Jewish philanthropist, who was active in numerous Jewish organizations and institutions, died here this weekend at the age of 79.

Hw was a founder and member of the board of Yeshiva University and of Albert Einstein Medical College. He was also active in the United Jewish Appeal, Israel Bonds and the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.
