Charles Hirshfield, 74 years old, former president of the San Francisco Stock Exchange, died here Wednesday following a heart attack. Mr. Hirshfield came to San Francisco alone at the age of 14, from Germany, and engaged in mining in Nevada for a short period. He was later the personal broker for the Bonaza Four—Mackay, Flood, O’Brien and Fair—who made their fortunes in Comstock Lode mining stocks.
