Chief Rabbi of France Awarded City of Paris Medal for Distinguished Service

The Chief Rabbi of France, Dr. Jacob Kaplan, was awarded the City of Paris modal today for “distinguished services to Paris, its civilization and culture.” The presentation was made at City Hall by Didier Delfour, president of the Municipal Council, who traced Dr. Kaplan’s career from his wounding in the Battle of Verdun in 1916. The large audience of notables included Baron Alain de Rothschild, president of the French Central Consistory, and Israeli Ambassador Asher Ben-Nathan.
