Chief Speaker at Dinner Marking New York Synagogue’s 100th Anniversary

More than 500 guests of the West End Synagogue (##) which last night celebrated its 100th anniversary at a dinner in the Hotel Plaza, Earl Bernard Baruch, a life-long member, warn them always “to be on guard and protect the institutions from within and without.” Mr. Baruch said we are “fortunate to be citizens of this country.”

Other speakers included Councilman Stanley M. Isaacs, Bernard J. Bamberger, rabbi of the congregation, and Rabbi Hyman Judah Schachtel of Houston, Texas, a former rabbi of the synagogue.
