Chinese President Jiang Zemin told visiting Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat that China supported the creation of a Palestinian state. Jiang also said he wanted to increase trade with the Palestinians. Arafat’s three-day trip to China comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a similar visit in May.
