A document referring to restrictions on Jewish life in the Soviet Union and particularly to the closing down of synagogues in Russia was presented today to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights at its current session here.

The presentation was made by the International Union of Christian Democrats. It included a paragraph appealing against Soviet taxes on priests and ministers and insisting on the need to provide the possibility to any people in any country to build and maintain places of worship.
