Christians, Jews Sponsor Five-day Police Parley on Mixed Populations

Police, law enforcement officials and community leaders today opened a five-day national conference here to discuss the complex human relations problems growing out of the mixed population groups found in a modern American cities. The conference, held on the campus of Michigan State University, is sponsored by the university’s School of Police Administration in cooperation with the National Conference of Christians and Jews.

Among the police officials scheduled for major addresses at the institute are Chief Bernard Brannon of Kansas City; Chief Stanley R. Schrotel of Cincinnati; Inspector Edward Payne of Philadelphia; and Inspector Noel McOuown of Los Angeles. Other police professional organizations cooperating with the institute are; the International Association of Chiefs of Police; the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association.
