A declaration of more than 130 church leaders from various parts of the country urging Christians to support the United Palestine Appeal’s $4,500,000 campaign was made public today. It was issued in response to a letter from Dr. Stephen S.Wise, chairman of the U.P.A.
“Recognizing that the goal of universal good-will is not always attained, we believe that a responsibility rests upon Christianity to give assistance to the victims of intolerance,” the declaration says. It endorses the effort to find homes for victims of persecution in Palestine.
