Zelea Codreanu and his colleagues Totu, Danila, Lofter (Cuza’s son) and the other antisemitic leaders who were arrested on the charge of plotting to overthrow the Government by violence and establish an antisemitic regime, have been acquitted to-day by the Appeal court, upholding the decision of the Lower Court, against which the Government Prosecutor had lodged an appeal. As soon as they were released they went to see M. Popesou, the editor of the big Liberal daily “Universul”, and thanked him for standing on their side. A banquet is being given here to-night by their friends to celebrate their release.
