The Jews of Bogota yesterday closed their shops and businesses in a strike protesting anti-Semitic attacks against the headquarters of “El Centro Israelita,” a German-Jewish society, and against Jewish stores and offices.
The attacks were made by groups of students who smashed windows, broke down doors, and pillaged shops. The terrorists shouted slogans of “Death to the Jews.” No casualties were reported. Despite police attempts to halt the attacks, they were unable to curb the demonstrators. The entire press of this city is unanimous in condemning the outbreak.
