The Senate of the Colorado Legislature has unanimously adopted a resolution calling on President Eisenhower, Congress and the State Department to “condemn publicly the persecution and brutal treatment of Jews living behind the Iron Curtain.”

The resolution, in the form of a joint memorial, also asked the United States Government to “combat such uncivilized action by taking whatever steps are possible to curtail further brutality and persecution.” The memorial has been forwarded to the Lower House where it is expected to achieve unanimous support.

Last week, Israel Ambassador Abba Eban addressed both houses of the Colorado Legislature. His address was greeted with a tremendous ovation.
