From Burma. more than half way around the world, Elias Levi has come to New York to study at Yeshiva College. A resident of Rangoon, he traveled by way of China and the Pacific Coast, making contacts with Jewish communities all along his route.
Levi is the second representative of an Eastern community to be attracted to Yeshiva this year. Rahmin Sion, who journeyed from Basra, Iraq, describes himself as “a Babylonian Jew studying the Babylonian Talmud.”
