Negotiations were started today between the Agudath Israel, orthodox organization which recently announced the establishment of its own Jewish Agency, and the Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, for cooperation between the two bodies.
The Agudath Israel requests full autonomy for itself in religious matters in Palestine, recognizing the authority of the Vaad Leumi in all other matters. Rabbis Hurvitz, Blau and Weber, represent the Agudath in the negotiations.
