I notice in your issue of Tuesday, Dec 14, an announcement that San Francisco and Oakland, California were the only two communities which have developed an organization for an annual drive to cover their respective obligations to national and foreign philanthropic agencies.
May I correct this. The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Harrisburg, Penn., conducted, in October 1926, its first campaign for such a purpose. In this campaign was included every Jewish organization that solicited funds in our community, national, international, and local, charitable, philanthropic and educational. The first campaign concluded in October was successful, and we are planning to make payments on all of our allottments after the first of the year.
Harrisburg is also satisfied that this method of meeting a community’s responsibility is definitely successful, and we are looking forward with much anticipation to our campaign of next October, when we hope that the $42,000,00 which was raised in our last campaign, will be materially added to.

I am confident that it is a pioneer work in the field of modern Jewish history, indispensable to the student and publicist. You are doing a great service for the education of the Jewish ministry and laity. May I take this occasion to correct an item in your biographic sketeh of myself?
