Complete Plans for Training 10,000 Jewish Workers in Building Industry

An extensive plan for the training of 10,000 Jewish workers for the building industry has been prepared by the Comzet, governmental department for Jewish land settlement and placing Jews in productive industries, and the Ort, society for promoting trades and agriculture among the Russian Jews. The plan is to be submitted for approval at a joint Ort and Comzet conference on November 2. Representatives from Ukrainian and White Russian cities are expected to atted.

The project provides for cooperation with the government technical schools at Charkoff. Odessa. Homel. Minsk, Vitebsk, Borisov. Kamenentz-Podolsk. Smolensk. Briansk, Rostov, Moscow and Ural, where Jewish youths will be accepted for training on the orders of the Ort or the Comzet. This cooperation has already been agreed upon. The forthcoming conference is to decided on the number of students to be sent from each region.
