A friendly atmosphere prevails in the camps established by Swiss authorities for French and Polish soldiers, a delegation of the Jewish Relief Committee reported today after visiting the camps.
French soldiers treat Jewish soldiers on the basis of complete comradeship and equality and have elected a Jewish officer as camp leader, it was said. Efforts are being made to establish a synagogue at the camp.
Polish officers in the Polish camp formerly mistreated Jewish soldiers but relations were improved after intervention of the Polish Legation at Berne. Jewish officers are among the internees.
All the men were said to be satisfied with the treatment accorded them by Swiss authorities. Efforts also are under way to establish a synagogue at the Polish camp.
