Messages of condolence have been sent by leading organizations and personalities to David Shapiro, publisher of the New York “Day”, upon the death of his wife.
Mrs. Shapiro, the former Belle Kaplan, succumbed last Monday at the age of fifty-nine, following a long and severe illness.
Mrs. Shapiro is survived by her husband and six children. She was known for her close cooperation with the work of her husband.
