A joint conference of the AFL and CIO of Ohio devoted to Israel and the Histadrut was held here, with some 70 labor leaders, representing unions with more than 1,000,000 members, attending. Phil Hannah, an AFL leader, and William Snoots, of the CIO, described their recent visit to Israel as guests of the Histadrut.

The delegates called on the United States Government to do “everything within its great power” to resolve the conflicts of the Middle East. The delegates also decided to establish an Ohio Trade Union Council for Israel and Histadrut. This was the first joint conference for any purpose held by the AFL and CIO in Ohio, Moshe Bitan, outing Histadrut representative in this country, and Moshe Bar-Tal, who it replacing him, both addressed the meeting.
