A decision to subsidize the Mizrachi workers’ colony in Palestine, known as “Shiek-Abrik,” to the extent of ten thousand dollars was adopted at the last Zionist Congress. This was the information given by Zevi Karp, leader of the American Mizrachi youth organization, who has just returned to this country from the Zionist Congress at Basle and the world congresses of the Mizrachi and Mizrachi Youth organizations, in all of which he took a prominent part.

Support for the Mizrachi colony was favored by the colonization commission of the Zionist Congress, of which the American member was Mrs. Archibald Silverman. Despite opposition, the resolution was adopted at the Congress by a majority vote.

At the Zionist Congress there were 15 delegates representing the Orthodox Zionist youth organization, said Mr. Karp. At the Mizrachi world conference the youth organization was represented by forty percent of the delegates.

Mr. Karp is one of the seven American Zionists who were elected members of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency. Yitzchak Epstein, president of the American Mizrachi Youth Organization, was elected an alternate member of the Zionist Actions Committee. A reception for both Mr. Karp and Mr. Epstein will be given soon by the Mizrachi Youth Organization of New York.
