Because of the escalation of armed clashes on the Arab-Israel borders, deteriorating American-Egyptian relations, and other factors, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee today made known that he is seeking the convening of a meeting of the body’s Subcommittee on the Near East. The announcement was made by Rep. Leonard Farbstein, New York Democrat, a member of the Subcommittee. He said: “It is time for the State Department to examine the desirability of orienting the United States policy away from Egypt.”
