No convention accomplishes all that is expected of it. The Zionist convention at Chicago was no exception. The resolution regarding the reform rabbis might well have been passed and certainly ought not to have aroused the acrimonious discussion which it did. Nonetheless, no great harm was done by the debate.
I am of the opinion that Zionist conventions should be held in cities where the delegates may not have their time and attention distracted from the business at hand by outside attractions, be it the boardwalk at Atlantic City or the fair at Chicago.
