The cornerstone of a village of Argentine immigrants to Israel was laid today at the site of the new settlement, near Ramleh.
Present at the ceremony were Argentine diplomats headed by Dr. Pablo Manguel, Argentine Minister to Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency leaders and representatives of the Israel Foreign Ministry. The village will contain 100 farming units and 60 small industrial units and will be situated on 3,000 dunams (750 acres) of land granted by the Jewish National Fund. An Argentine company has been organized to loan money to prospective middle class immigrant’s to settle in the village.
