The Church World Service, relief and rehabilitation agency of the National Council of Churches, announced yesterday that it had received a $3,000 gift from the American Council for Judaism for its revolving loan fund for Arab refugees.
The fund is used to assist Palestinian refugees in Gaza and Jordan. It makes available small interest-free loans for refugees to procure agricultural tools or set up small businesses. Commenting on the gift, the Rev. Dr. A. Russell Stevenson, director of the Overseas Program of the National Council said it would help the church group “to join hands with members of the Jewish community in serving the needs of Palestine refugees.
