The second term of the Schoold for Jewsih Teachers opens Thursday evening, February 8th, in the Community House of Congregation Emanu-E1.
According to Rabbi Jacob B. Pollak, director of the school, six sholarships entitling the winners to full fuition, have been donated and will eb awearde to deserving students. The school, thought less than a half years old, has been approved by the Board of Refants of the State of New York for courses leading to salary increment for teachers in the public schools of New York City.
The School for Tachers is sucessor to the Hebrew Union Cololege School for Teachers. It offers a three-year course in elementary and advenaced Hebrew, Jewish History, the Rible, Jewish literature, education, classroom organization and management. Gerfiticates will be awarded the graduates, entiting them to tache in religious schools. The school operates a placement bureau for its pupils and graduates. Its offices are at 3 East 65th street.
