The Cuban measure confiscating $1125,000 in bonds posted for Jewish refugees, which is understood to have been adopted by the Cuban Senate, has the secret backing of President Federico Laredo Bru, it was reliably learned here today.

Informed Government circles expressed the view that he supported the bill despite his knowledge that passage would mitigate against his chances of obtaining much-needed credits from the American Government. The measure affects about 3,000 refugees, for whom $500 bonds were posted by American organizations and individuals.
