Czech state prosecutors charged two former Communist Party officials with abuse of power for allegedly protecting a former Nazi SS officer from prosecution for war crimes in the 1960s, according to Czech press reports. Werner Tutter, who died in 1983, was implicated in the murder of dozens of civilians in West Slovakia in 1944.
