David Carey, a Yiddish actor and producer, died Sunday after a brief illness at the age of 41.
Carey and Raymond Ariel founded the Shalom Yiddish Musical Theater here in 1978. Among the productions in which Carey also acted, were “The Roumanian Wedding,” “The Girl From Tel Aviv” and “Wish Me Mazel Tov.”
Earlier Carey appeared in Yiddish productions with Ben Bonus, Joseph Buloff and Ida Kaminska.
