Rabbi Abraham Castro, former Chairman of the Jewish Community of Tunis, and a well-known editor, died here from injuries received in a motorcar accident.
Rabbi Castro carried out the re-organization of the Jewish hospital and was instrumental in the establishment of a Jewish food-kitchen and a Jewish Home for the aged and crippled, in Tunis. He was a great Hebraist and had published a number of works including a Hebrew-Arabic dictionary.
