Death Sentence of Arab Notable Confirmed; Jewish Worker Injured

Major General Archibald P. Wavell today confirmed the death sentence passed by a military court on Haj Mahmud El Husseini, an Arab notable, for carrying a revolver. His execution is expected tomorrow.

A delegation of Arab women presented a memorandum to General Wavell protesting recent death sentences of Arabs.

A band attacked a Public Works Department camp near Anebta, setting fire to tents and destroying equipment. A search for the band was not immediately successful.

Arab snipers shot at a group of Jewish workers in a quarry near Givat Shaul, Jerusalem suburb, slightly wounding one. Eight Zionist Revisionists, held several months at the Government concentration camp at Acre, were released today.
