The world will be granteful to the Jews for their war on the Hitler peril, declared Rabbi Louis I. Newman of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, speaking over station WEVD last evening on the weekly Jewish Daily Bulletin broadcast. Rabbi Newman, who spoke on “The Statesmanship of Jewish Self-Defense,” wared American.Jewry against the conciliatory propaganda of the Nazis.

“The statesmanship of Jewish self-defense is not to be understood in the language of armies and navies,” declared Dr.Newman. “It does not even depend on diplomatic negotiations, inasmuch as Jewry has no accredited representatives in the chancelleries of the world.our self-defense rests entirely upon the Justice of our cause, upon its appeal to the decent and reasonable sentiments of humanity; upon our ability to awaken public opinion in our be half, and upon our power to use the practical instrument of ecofense approved by the League of Nationas, and useful to every oppressed minority folk.”

Dr.Newman was inttoduced by Herman Bernstein ,editor of The Jewish Daily Bulletin.
