There is widespread “sympathy and understanding for Israel” among the countries of South America, Emilio Arenales Catalan, of Guatemala, declared today on behalf of 20 Latin American delegations. Senor Catalan made that statement as spokesman for the Latin American group at a luncheon tendered the representatives of the 20 countries by Mrs. Golda Meir, Foreign Minister of Israel, who departed tonight for Jerusalem.
