Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman said he is unaware that he is related to a rabbi who was killed in the West Bank. Rabbi Hillel Lieberman, who was born in the United States, was found dead in a cave near Nablus after he had been beaten and shot, allegedly by a Palestinian mob. Members of the rabbi’s family told The New York Times that he was the senator’s second cousin.
