While the “Daily News'” lobby correspondent confirms his announcement of months ago that Vernon Hartshorn will join the cabinet as Colonial Minister, Reuter reports that yesterday’s story to the effect that Mr Hartshorn will succeed Lord Passfield when the former is relieved of his duties as a member of the Simons Commission is unfounded.

The “Daily Herald’s” diplomatic correspondent today denied the report published in various continental papers that Sir John Chancellor, High Commissioner of Palestine, has tendered his resignation to the Colonial Office. The report had indicated that Sir John had resigned two weeks ago and that while his resignation had not yet been accepted other candidates were being considered.
