A Department of Justice spokesman said today that consideration was being given to placing the “American Nazi Party” on the Attorney General’s list of subversive organizations. He said the issue was “pending” and added that the Department was studying data on the neo-Nazi group headed by George Lincoln Rockwell, a former naval officer.

Members of the “American Nazi Party” wear the storm troops uniform of Adolf Hitler’s followers and the swastika insignia, give the Nazi outstretched arm salute and sing the “Horst Wessel” song, which was the anthem of the German Nazis.
