Pere Vincent, the famous archeologist who complained here this week about Dr. Sukenik’s lecture in Berlin a few months back on the Jewish graves in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus, urging that “the returners from exile should caution their young archeologists to exercise more care in their announcements and to pay more respect to things sacred to Christians”, explained to-day that he had not intended to make a blow at Dr. Sukenik, Dr. Sekenik is my pupil, he said, and I have known him for eight years as a good worker and a sound scientist.
