An appeal for immediate aid for the Yeminite Jews was received here from Rabbi Yichye Halevi, Chief Rabbi of Yemen.

The Yeminite Jews are starving as a result of the drought. Locusts have added to the devastation of their crops. The population is also suffering from epidemics and tribal warfare in the neighborhood.
