Montefiore Hospital is an “outstanding example in a long succession of notable scientific and cultural institutions built through individual generosity and effort,” Dr. Abraham Flexner, director of the Institute for Advanced Study, declared last night at a dinner in the Waldorf-Astoria, which climaxed the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the hospital. More than 1,000 persons were present.
