Dr. Solomon Katz, formerly of Cornell University, has been appointed Assistant Professor of Greek and Latin at the University of Oregon, it was announced here today. Dr. Katz is the author of an article in the Jewish Quarterly Review, “Pope Gregory the Great and the Jews.” While he held a research fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies, Dr. Katz completed a work entitled “The Jews in the Visigothic and Frankish Kingdoms of Spain and Gaul.” This work will be published by the Mediaeval Academy of America.
