Dr. Hanan Wolf Loeb, noted physician and dean of the Medical School of St. Louis University, died here yesterday, in his sixty-second year.
The University was closed throughout the day in tribute to Dr. Loeb, who is mourned by the entire Jewish community and the non-Jewish population.
Dr. Loeb was Chief of Staff of the Jewish Hospital here. He was born in Philadelphia in 1865. Graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, he began practice in St. Louis in 1888. He was the author of many works, including “Operative Surgery of the Ear, Nose and Throat.” He was the editor of the “Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology,” and a member of many medical associations.
