Doctor Saul Lieberman, Professor of Talmud at The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, was elected president of the American Academy for Jewish Research. The election took place at the 36th annual meeting of the Academy held here.

The American Academy for Jewish Research is an institution of higher Jewish learning, established to foster and promote the cause of scholarship in the fields of Judaica both here and abroad. Founded in 1927, its membership is composed of the foremost scholars in Judaica, representing nearly all American seminaries and universities.
