Hershey, director of the Selective Service System, announcing that all draft boards have been asked to give “favorable consideration, wherever possible,” to requests by Jewish registrants for postponement of their physical examination or induction into the Armed Forces until after Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur or Succoth, if such examination or induction is scheduled for these days.
