During the past year, 436 Israelis were killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, compared with 198 in 2001. Seventy-six percent of Israelis killed last year were civilians, according to the Israeli daily Yediot Achronot, citing data from the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
