Editor and Cartoonist Get Month Term for Libel

Imprisonment of one month or the payment of a fine of 300 Marks, was the sentence imposed on the Socialist Deputy Schemm, editor of weekly. “Weekruf.” and a cartoonist Braeutigan, for libel.

The weekly published an article repeating the libelous tale that the German student, Daube, who was killed, was the victim of Jews for ritual purposes. The article was accompanied by a cartoon by Braeutigan, which purported to illustrate the allegations in the article.
