A campaign conducted among Lithuanian Jews for the relief of the famine victims in Northern Lithuania result in the raising of 20,000 Lit. This sum proved wholly inadequate in proportion to the need. Tens of thousands are suffering from hunger.

This sum was not sufficient to satisfy the needs of the small children who are suffering greatly from hunger and cold, being without clothing. The situation is growing more desperate, causing great concern to the Jewish community which is unable to give further assistance.
