Druze and Christian leaders were today trying to ensure continuation of the cease-fire between their waring factions in Lebanon. They were jointed by Druze Socialist leader Walid Jumblat in their attempts to half the strife in the mountainous Shouf area.

Meanwhile, on the coast, Lebanese sources reported that not one single Palestinian refugee family or displaced local Lebanese had purchased a prefabricated house or mobile home offered them by Israel. Israeli manufacturers had put on display several such mobile homes which could provide camp refugees with warm and solid housing for the winter.

Local sources said that although the price was high — between $5,000 and $10,000 each, it was not the price which had dissuaded the residents from buying, but the general feeling that the refugees should not accept housing from Israel after Israel had destroyed their houses in the camps.
